Mumma’s soap box is a place where you can have your say in your own way.
You have three minutes to express yourself, you can use the time to raise awareness of a situation, cause, life event etc… show gratitude towards a person place or thing, or just talk about a subject that you are passionate about.
Videos are posted every Monday here and on my IGTV channel
Contact me if you would like to take part here or over at my Instagram I’d love to hear from you.
If your topic has already been spoken on don’t worry you can still cover it because not everyone’s experiences are the same and you could bring a fresh perspective on the subject.
Yollande (IG: @theeasielife) talks about home schooling. To many of us the thought of home schooling seems daunting, scary and rather a big responsibility but for many it has provided freedom and a life more on their terms. It’s an opportunity to nurture real creative and curious thinking. To know that your child is getting the attention and support they need. With the school system seemingly geared more towards obedience, assimilation and conformity with many intelligent, creative children being labelled as difficult or bad due to not being challenging enough in class or not connecting with the classroom style teaching is home schooling the way forward?
@theeasielife says “Mark and I met in 2005 and married in August 2007 and thus began our lives together. In July 2010 we became parents and welcomed Kaleb into our lives. Almost three full years later we welcomed Miss Niomi into our family. Having a young family presents great challenges as we navigate our lives, pursue our dreams and invest physically, emotionally and financially into our family. Always striving to do what’s right by our children as well as pursuing our own personal goals.” What are your thoughts on home schooling? Is it an option you have considered?
☆Self sabotage – Ep9☆
We are very lucky to have the passionate and insightful Nicola Rae-Wickham from @alifemoreinspired talking about something that affect a large number of us… Self Sabotage whether that be in a relationship, career wise or generally in life Nicola gives us a quick run down of what it is and how we can overcome it.
“I’m Nicola Rae-Wickham, founder of A Life More Inspired which is a platform that exists to affirm and encourage women’s self-worth and help them to be more of themselves in their lives and businesses. Through a podcast, creative mentoring and merchandise, I help women take the ideas that are on their hearts and in their minds and bring them to life.
I chose to talk about Self Sabotage because it is one of the unconscious ways that fear stops us from going for our dreams. It gets in the way of us to taking the steps that lead to change and I want to help as many women as possible to recognise when it is happening and to be able to do something about it”.

☆Being nice Vs Being Kind Ep -5☆
Hi my name is Cleo and I’m the Mumma from Mumma and the Bears. I have two children a daughter who is 17 years old and a son who is 15 months old. I have recently moved from Suffolk to Hertfordshire with my partner Tyler to be closer to his family. Oh I also have a Staffy cross named Beau she’s so beautiful. I love cakes, movies and exploring new places.
My topic for Mumma’s soap box is Being nice versus Being kind! I feel there is a clear difference between the two and sometimes being nice can be damaging and hurtful where being kind is more of what is needed. Its more important to be compassionate, empathetic and understanding than appearing to be nice to portray a certain persona that may not even be you. I do love manners and think they are important but sometimes being nice can be fake and leave you resentful of a situation or person.
☆Living with depression – Ep4☆
Hi everyone, I’m sam! (@mrsotero18) People call me Samee (it’s said like sammy, but when I was at school and wanted to be cool so changed the spelling and kept it that way) I’m 27 years young and I live in stowmarket Suffolk! I have two beautifully wild children.. Taylor 💗 aged 5 (going on 17) and hunter 💙 and 1 but defo thinks his older! We also have a bubba bean cooking in the oven! As I write this I am 7 weeks! 💙💗 so today on Mummas soapbox I wanted to talk about anxiety and depression and how it’s very misunderstood by people who have never had it! It’s affected me for a very long time now, hopefully by sharing it helps someone!!! Thank you so much for sharing your story and being so open and honest.
☆Tattooed Mumma Judgement – Ep3☆
Hey, I’m Sarah Lou (@2mermaidz ) Mama to my GRL GANG! I’m 28 and currently on maternity leave, having all the fun and zero sleep!! Boobing and trying to keep a 4 year old happy is my thing right now, I’ve decided to chat about being a Mam with tattoos (I know I’m not the first) but I believe that we have to keep talking about these things until we are all seen as humans, just a bunch of humans who are different.
It’s summer time and I’ve been experiencing ‘the look’ a lot with being in summery clothes. There’s a difference in looking and ‘the look’ but I’ve actually had people say bad things to me recently, touching me (really) and also telling me stuff that I really don’t want to hear. So I wanted to get some more exposure on the subject, just because I have tattoos doesn’t make me ‘not pretty’ (yup, that was said to me last week) or those disapproving looks, they hurt man. I love my tattoos and I’m here to say just chat to me, I’m nice or just keep your unwanted opinions to yourself!
☆Baby Loss – Ep2☆
I’m Sinead! @sineadmaria I usually spend most of my time running around after my son or working in hospitality. I love reading, cooking, quizzes and baths, but have next to no time to do any of these since the small one arrived. I’m a very firm believer in the saying better out than in (especially with your internal monologue) and my guiltiest pleasure is RuPaul’s drag race… except I never feel guilty. My tent is my happy place 💁♀️
On Mumma’s Soap Box I will be talking about being asked what may seem like an innocent question but actually it is a loaded question.
☆Thank you so much for sharing your deeply personal experience with us you beautiful, strong woman☆
☆Sustainable Fashion – Ep1☆
Zarrina is a mother of two who started a sustainable fashion business @beyneu.store with a new friend Alina she met last year (2017), due to the impact that fast fashion has on the planet, on women and children in developing countries and what it means for us all going forward.
